How long does refinishing take?

Depending on the condition, and if they've been coated before, refinishing typically takes between 2 and 4 days.

Is it dangerous or harmful?

Certainly not! While the products we use should be handled only by professionals, the way we handle them guarantees there is no risk to your health or well-being at all. That said, anyone with respiratory issues or smell sensitivities may want to find somewhere else to be during coating application.

Do I need to do anything before you come?

We will send you a guide on how to prepare for our arrival for the best results when we book your cabinet refinishing. That said, here are some of the main things you can do, so you know ahead of time.

  • Know what color of touch-up paint might be necessary
  • Ensure the cabinet doors do not need replaced
  • Remove all loose items from the room
  • Dust the room to keep dust from landing in the fresh coating
  • If water and power are not available, we need to know ahead of time - the same goes for heat in cooler months
  • If anyone in the home has respiratory issues, we recommend they find somewhere else to be for the day
  • All walls must be sealed, so there is no open framing or areas where dust cannot be controlled
  • Make room for us to work; we need some space to store and paint cabinet faces. We recommend clearing space in a dining room, garage, or other area to avoid additional costs of transporting cabinet faces to and from our workshop
How do I take care of my cabinets once they're refinished?

We typically recommend a cleaning solution of 50% vinegar, and 50% warm water, with a few drops of dish soap applied with a spray bottle, and wiped with microfibre towels, though any standard non-abrasive kitchen cleaner will do.

Magic erasers are great for removing tough spots, and spray on Turtle Wax applied liberally every 6 to 12 months will extend of the life of the coating dramatically.

Do I need to be home?

Nope! You are free to leave, and we will call you if we have any questions or problems. We just ask you to be there if possible when we arrive to go over the work being performed a final time to avoid confusion or miscommunication. We also ask you are there upon completion of the work, to inspect the work and arrange payment.

When during my remodel should refinishing take place?

As a rule of thumb, cabinet refinishing is typically done after paint, after appliance, fixture, and backsplash tear-out, but before replacement (fridge, stove, vent hood, etc), and before flooring. Working from the top to the bottom of a room is usually a safe bet.

What finishes are available

We can customize countless finish options depending on your preference... solid color, custom faux-stone finishes, staining, metallics, and three different gloss levels allows you to pick any design.

You can pay with cash, check, or bank transfer, or for a 3% fee card fee, we also accept most debit and credit cards. If paying with cash, we ask you pay the technician on site, so it doesn't get lost in the mail.
